Xome Solutions

Xome Solutions is a comprehensive real estate services and technology company that can handle every aspect of the mortgage lifecycle. They approached our team to help create a new website. My involvement with this project was two phased. I was first tasked to create a design option to be part of the initial design presentation. After the design was chosen, I was then tasked to build the site. I will continue to break down my roles in the following section.

UI Design

There were three UI designers working on the original presentation. The client had asked for an impactful but very conservative design. With the exception of some product photography, imagery should be very limited. I had additional direction within our team to develop an option that pushes the design.

In the end, the presentation was a success, and the client decided to combine options pulling elements from my design and another option.

Development

The build was to be a WordPress installation running the DIVI theme. The client wanted the site built in a way that would allow an in-house staff member to easily perform simple site updates, and create landing pages for marketing campaigns.

I started by customizing a child theme and set up the site’s environment. Then, I installed all the necessary software, albeit, I keep the software as light as possible for each install. From here I started the build paying careful attention to establish the global styling. I styled the typography, then custom sections, rows, and modules. Once these base elements were designed, I focused on the page types and unique layouts. Once the handful of page types were created we reached a milestone in the project and the client had an opportunity to review. This process was continued until the site was launched. The client was on the development journey from the beginning and communication was key. Once the site was launched I delivered a training tutorial and turned the client loose on their new site.
